چکیده

Coverage is a prominent indicator for measuring the quality of service in directional sensor networks. From perspective energy and deployment costs, full coverage may be expensive or unrealistic, partial can operate more energy-efficient by scheduling working status sensors. In certain practical application scenarios, irregular obstacles like trees, mountains, buildings, vehicles, which have adverse influence on QoC, often exist field interest (FoI). Meanwhile, due to sensors fall near border FoI, it also has effect contribution. this paper, we assume that are randomly deployed square FoI with shape existence, introduce concept occlusion targets. Afterwards, take effects into account derive critical density achieving an expected ratio high probability. Finally, conduct series simulation experiments verify accuracy between results numerical results, analysis mean absolute error them. The show our method good performance estimating density.

Sensor Density for Complete Information Coverage in Wireless Sensor Networks

Coverage is a very important issue in wireless sensor networks. Current literature defines a point to be covered if it is within the sensing radius of at least one sensor. This is a conservative definition of coverage and we have previously proposed a new notion of information coverage. Compared with the conventional definition of coverage, a point can still be information covered even if it is...

Classification and Comparison of Methods for Discovering Coverage Loss Areas in Wireless Sensor Networks

In recent years, wireless sensor networks data is taken into consideration as an ideal source, in terms of speed, accuracy and cost, in order to study the Earth's surface. One of the most important challenges in this area, is the signaling network coverage and finding holes. In recent years, wireless sensor networks data is taken into consideration as an ideal source, in terms of speed, accurac...

Improving Energy-Efficient Target Coverage in Visual Sensor Networks

Target coverage is one of the important problems in visual sensor networks. The coverage should be accompanied with an efficient use of energy in order to increase the network lifetime. In this paper, we address the maximum lifetime for visual sensor networks (MLV) problem by maximizing the network lifetime while covering all the targets. For this purpose, we develop a simulated annealing (SA) ...

Voronoi-Based Coverage Optimization for Directional Sensor Networks

Sensing coverage is a fundamental problem in sensors networks. Different from traditional isotropic sensors with sensing disk, directional sensors may have a limited angle of sensing range due to special applications. In this paper, we study the coverage problem in directional sensor networks (DSNs) with the rotatable orientation for each sensor. We propose the optimal coverage in directional s...
